The EE braggers thread!!!

The BR/EE roos are very interesting, I sort of like the random flecks of red in there too. This is why I just love the EE's so many color combo's. I also have 6 year old EE hens of all different colors, the 5-2 week old chicks will add to my EE flock because I like them so much. I also have other breeds but EE's are my fav.

Where are you located? I am in Southern Illinois

North Western Pennsylvania

Oh and correction on the BR/EEs Chipmunk is not their dad, their mom was an EE. Sorry brain fart

We bought a pair of Easter Eggers this weekend at a chicken swap. (Actually, I can't remember whether the seller said Easter Egger or Ameraucana, as I was too busy falling in love with these birds!

I think they are EE's though.)

If anyone knows what color they are, please let me know as I would like to play around with the chicken chart. Thanks!

We have named them Merlin and Myrtle.

We hope to get some better pictures once they are done with quarantine and are in the big coop and run.

Gorgeous pair!! They're EE's no doubt - It doesn't matter what a seller says, most out there have Easter Eggers. Their colors are silver duckwing (female) and Black Breasted Red (male) - Both with a lot of melanizer, which creates the red on his chest and the extra black patterning on her.

Too bad your offspring females won't look like mommy though, but hey, at least they'll be sex-linked.

Thanks!

Now when you say they'll be sex-linked, does that mean the pullets will be Black Breasted Red, and the cockerels silver duckwing ? Also, I tried to look up "Black Breasted Red" on the chicken calculator, but couldn't find it. Is it the same as Black Patterned Gold Duckwing?

It is the same with the addition of mahogany.

Nope, it's the same. No Mahogany.

The males won't be silver duckwing though, they'll be "golden" duckwing - What most EE roosters are. Black and creamy yellow w/red shoulders.

Could someone answer an EE question for me?
I just tried my first hatch, and have a chick that is a cross of 2 EEs. The chick's legs are yellow. Both of the parents have slate legs. Do yellow legs mean it will not lay a blue/green egg (assuming it turns out to be a pullet)? Are those traits linked?

Oh, and it looks like the hen only has one copy of Autosomal Phaeomelanin, but I dont think that is in the calculator.
