The EE braggers thread!!!

well all, I'm on a chicken saddle making spree, so if anyone is looking.... Thought i'd throw it out there. These will be super classy blue and buff check with country stars on them, and they are fitted a little better than the basic ones i've seen patterns for. I'm gonna try to sell them at my local feed store. I am lost for what to put the price at, though. i will post pics of my "model" when i get one done, of course!

I have to pick one of the girls, hmmm.....

these are "mock up's" i threw together when i was making the pattern... the "real ones" will be far more polished. the flannel didn't end up being too durable, but these were old coats we were throwing away anyway:D I don't have anything made up yet, i was trying to figure out exactly what i needed to do before i cut in.... I have different sizes of patterns, and idk what size to make a lot of??? I was also thinking of making a matching apron to collect eggs/cook with! I was thinking mabie somebody would get a super cute christmas present this year?

Mabie this will give those clueless hubbys ideas! These will have snaps, not elastic cause it's sooo much easier to get on the bird, and they fit close so i don't think they can get em off! (We'll find out because i'm thinking of using my one rhode island as the model)

Hey, haven't posted here in a while! Just wanted to update on my girls. The pullets turned 7 months a week and a half ago, and I recently got my first egg from one of them, Cressida, a lovely olive-colored one. Unfortunately, it was broken in the nest box.

Well, I got her second egg this evening, and it's a beautiful olive egg, just like the first one! I'm so excited that I have such a pretty egg-layer, in both senses of the phrase.

Here's the pretty girl herself on their 7 month birthday:

oooh. "green with envy". that would look real pretty mixed with pink ones! Do you know what kind of bird donated the brown egg gene? I kinda like this shade of green.

Thanks for the compliments!

I bought these girls from a local hatchery, so unfortunately, I don't know either of the parents.

Oh, and Kassaundra, I've seen your Skyfire, what a beauty! Do you have pics of what she looked like as a chick? I'm wondering if they were similar at that age, too.

(Cressy was a 'traditional EE chipmunk' patterned chick, but with a marking like a halo in a creamy-tan color on her head. I have at least one pic if you want to see.)

Yes, I'll have to look when I get home. She was chipmunk, but had a different light color then the others, her light color was grey/blue/silver kind of cast to it while the others had a tan/yellow/biege cast. It was subtle but different enough that she could easily be picked out of the sea of chipmunks.

I found some on my FB page here they are

She is molting right now, but when she finishes I'll post pics after her first molt.
