Basically yes.. Doesn't always have to be Ameraucana just a blue egg gene carrier. Some people use other EE's, Ameraucana, or Araucana. So then EE dont always have green legs then, A chicken is considered an EE if it is a mix of some other breed and an Ameraucana?
I agree, I've noticed this also. What was bothering me is that out of 5 EE cockerals that I have from the same batch, all of them were fully feathered by week 6 except for this one....I'm glad to know that others have had this experience also, tho. His comb is way behind the other boys in development too, it still is pullet-sized, maybe he is just a late bloomer.panth, I don't have tons of experience w/ EE, but noticed in my boy he was several weeks behind in tail feather developement, for the longest time he had none, I think it is an EE boy thing (slow tail feather developement)
Thanks, he handed off lots of cherries, it was just challenging capturing it on the camera. I am so lucky we got our chicks from a hatchery and everyone on here says how horrible hatchery chicks are especially the roos, but Oreo is awesome, not aggressive w/ me or the female chickens, not harsh w/ them they aren't bare from him, feeds them the best treats, extremely protective if one even makes any kind of alarm call he runs to them as fast as he can ready to do battle w/ whatever caused them to alarm, and pretty to boot.Oreo is really a good looker! I love the pic of him handing off the cherry to the hen. So precious.
