The EE braggers thread!!!

I would breed her to a Blue Laced Red Wyandotte(or splash laced)... you should get some lovely-looking laced babies and still have a lot of the color you love. Plus, all my EE/Wyandottes are SO sweet and are very nicely shaped like your girl. almost all of my crossbred chicks had huge beards. and thr rose is easier to breed back out than the single comb.

Just my 2cents =)

Also, I LOVE the white speckled hen, she looks like a Deleware mix or something.
Yes, I was actually thinking that myself, and there is someone a couple towns over with some chicks for sale hmmmmmmm :) I think the dark head may be harking back to the Aracuna blood. The Colloncas De Artes have that look. As for Hedwig, her dad is a barred ee, I wonder if the penciled rocks share some genetics with the barred? The blue hen laid a georgeous blue egg today! All of them are laying blue /green eggs but I haven't figured out who is laying what yet, I caught her in the nest box today and sat and waited :) Sent from my Motorola Electrify using Tapatalk 2

I am assuming this happens on a fairly regular basis, but I just got kicked off the Ameraucana thread, and told to come here. So here are my girls.

Peaches & Cream

Fall

Autumn

If someone could tell me the colors of my birds that would be great. I don't know much about colors, but I think Peaches is a splash? The other two I just call black tailed buffs.

I love the way Fall carries her tail! So regal

Anyway, sorry can't help on color but your birdies are lovely.

Well, you are welcome here. We

our EE chickens.
I don't think there are proper color names for EEs. I also don't think Peaches is splash, but she does look like she has some feathers that are laced (not that she qualifies as a Laced patterned either). Part of the attraction to EEs (besides the colored eggs) is the wide variety of colors to our birds. Peaches is very lovely, no matter what "feather pattern name" she has.

Welcome! The more the merrier! Sorry, can't help with color either. Your girls are pretty and those loooong tails are really neat. Do they have Old English Game in them?

Hi! Peaches is not a splash, I would call her a wheaten or salmon. She is pretty! I think the other two are black tailed buffed like you said. I think the names of certain colors varies breed to breed, or there are certain subtle differences in a similar looking overall color that is important when you are holding a bird to a standard, but since EE's dont have a standard, we can call it whatever we want right!? :)

I got two EEs this year. One was a brown ee, Eagle (like normally seen) but died at about 3 weeks. The other is a pure white EE, without a beard/muffs :(. Her name is Cleo.
I hatched out a chick from a blue egg July 22nd. I was told since her mother was an EE, she was an EE since they're mixs. Her dad looks to be a SLW only because she had the exact colors as my other SLW who hatched with her, and looks like a mixed SLW.... except she has heavy feathers on her legs! She is super cute! Her name is Cali, (calico since she has cool colors). Hopefully she will be a girl! I've also got my EE from last year, Fern. She is very cute :). My oldest EE (and my first chicken) who was 3 died in about March... =/.

Here is Fern from last year:
She lays blue eggs!

Here is Cali about a week ago

I really like that too! You can't tell from the picture but Autumn holds hers high as well. I had almost 50 hens to choose from and I picked them because of that regalness, and Peaches because of her color.
