The EE braggers thread!!!

Oh ok, I was a little worried there. I couldn't tell the size of your birds beard because its all the same color. Its so funny how chickens turn out, they are so different.

This is how you shake a beard ;) lol Yeah - they are very nicely bearded.

You can see her beard well in this one :)

I will see what my white EE looks like after molt, she is with a clutch and hasn't started to molt yet, I hope she does soon. I always have that one that molts late going into winter. She is very dirty right now.
I see all these pics of peoples pristeen white chickens and am amazed, I have two and the day after the molt is complete they are dirty white and stay that way.

Quote: Usually she is pretty clean but she has been on a nest for a little over a month and not in any rain or free ranging. She needs a shower bad. Her chicks were hatched on Monday so I don't expect her to take them out in public until at least Monday. I will let her out of the brooder house and run, so she can dust that should help. They are mostly on grass and in the woods. Don't get me wrong she's not pristine, I really don't like the white chickens. All her sisters went to the auction and well she got lucky and went broody and I just bought Blue Barred Rock eggs and knew a broody would do better then the incubator, so she got to stay. I do want to hatch some of her eggs for my Olive Eggers, maybe I will get a different color then black and brown laced Olive Eggers.

Since I talked about him I guess I should show off my EE/Polish cockeral. He is 26 weeks old now. I know he is part polish because of the partial crest and the comb, I am figuring he is part EE too because he had green legs as a chick and has a beard. Those green legs have turned blue now.

This is him at a couple days old. Cute little chocolate puffy cheeked chick

I think this is at about 2 weeks old. You can see him starting to get a crest on him.

The awkward stage and the point at which I knew it was likely a boy. I think this is maybe 8-10 weeks old.

My 2 roos that I got out of a batch of 10 chicks of various breeds. EE/Polish is in the front and my Ameracauna roo is behind him. They are 15 weeks old in this photo. Technically my Ameracauna roo counts as an EE since the parents were likely a white hen and a wheaten rooster. Both this rooster and the hen that was also in the batch are pure white.

Here he is today at 26 weeks old. He likes to fly up to the top of the waterer and stand there to crow. He's pretty, he's docile, and that comb of his is so cool looking! He and the Ameracauna cockeral seem to share the rooster duties well and they both crow but rarely at the same time. He takes better care of the ladies though, as I have heard him calling to them when we throw out treats.
