"The Egg and I"

Well, just to be a bit more clear, MacDonald *lived* the events of The Egg & I in Port Townsend. She *wrote the book* while she lived on a farm on Vashon.

The six-acre farm is still open to visitors:

I've seen pictures of the remaining barn on the original farm, but I can't for the life of me find them now.

That is interesting. I didn't know she lived on Vashon later. I got the impression, while reading her book "The Plague and I" that she may have lived in Seattle with her family. That is cool that you can stay in her Vashon residence, but did she write anything about her time living there?

I don't remember if the Egg & I was set on Vashon Island or not. I don't think it was. I think it was on one of the other islands in Peugot Sound. But in any event, Betty MacDonald did later live on Vashon island, and she wrote a book describing her life there. I read it, but I don't remember the name of it. In all, she wrote several books, and she also wrote a series of children's books.

She did write a book about her life on Vashon. The Plague and I was about her fight with TB, and was written either before or after she lived on Vashon. Probably before. I never read The Plague and I, but I did read the book she wrote on Vashon. I just don't remember the title of it.
