So that means my Barred Rock will lay in 2 weeks. She and my Golden Sexlink are 25 weeks old. My RIR started laying 2 weeks ago.She is barely squatting.But her crown is much larger.She is my largest hen...

Being as that Christmas is only 20 days away, I am thinking that my girls are holding out till then to lay their 1st egg --it will be their Christmas present to me.

I should tell them that I don't mind getting Christmas gifts before the 25th-LOL!!!

My leghorn hasn't been consistently laying good eggs. She's laid several soft shell eggs after laying good eggs for a week. Hopefully her body will work itself out. I'm hoping for Christmas eggs from my other 3 pullets who are now 17 weeks old today.

I tried the squat test today. My leghorn (25 weeks), flipped out, screamed (literally), and squeezed herself out through I hole I didn't think a one day old chick could fit through.
