What type of food/treats do you normally feed?
Any obstruction in her beak/throat?
How long has it been since she laid the last egg - when you treated her with antibiotics before, did she lay an egg after treatment - if so what did it look like

She has not layed a normal egg for quite some time. Months. Probably about a month ago she had a couple of soft shell eggs. Once no shell at all, just yolk and white in the box.
My hens eats barley and wheat that is sprouted. I feed them fermented feed also. Treats are mealworms that I raise, hard boiled eggs, grapes, tomates, etc. They also have free access to layer crumble and oyster shell.
She has not layed since the antibiotic treatment. We see or feel no obstruction.

Thank you again for the advice. I gave them the mixture and wrapped them up to stay warm. I will go back out in an hour or two and give them some more. They look so pitiful but every once in awhile will suddenly rouse and fight me, squawking and kicking.

Botulism infects the crop with its toxin a avian vet will clean the crop taking away the toxin. But in most cases they die.

I have been giving
Epsom salt molasses every few hours. They are no worse. A few other birds are shaky and have mucous in the mouth. I started treating them right away. No deaths yet. Keeping the two sickest ones wrapped up.

I have located a vet who sees chickens! It is about 1 1/2 hrs from me. She has an appt. tomorrow morning. Is there anything specific I should request them to do while there? I never dreamed I would be taking my chickens to a vet when I got them. But they mean the world to me and I will do whatever needs done to properly care for them.

Glad they're aren't any worse and you've started the others on the treatment also. Hope they all pull through and good luck :hugs

Thank you. The first two are now acting like they want up. I went out and found one outside the coop. The other lifts her head and struggles to come up which is an improvement. Also, one is showing a better swallow response.
The third is sitting. A fourth one is walking well but can't seem to see well enough to eat. A fifth one is fine but slobbering.
They just might live if I keep up the treatments. My question is: Should I mix electrolytes into the mixture? Thanks again. I am sure your advice has helped my birds immensely.

You're very welcome :) I'm glad that the flushing treatment seems to be helping. I don't see why you couldn't give them electrolytes also. Especially since some of them seem to have a bad appetite it will help keep them hydrated and energised. Is there vitamins/minerals on the electrolytes?
