The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

Cynthia, thankyou for the beautiful handbag/tote and neck warmer. You didn't have to send anything but it will be cherished all the same!

Re quilts. I have 3 of my own finished and use them as like another blanket to put on if you're cold. Like a topper on a bed.

You are so welcome. I'm sure you recognized those fabrics in the bag! Re: quilts...I do the same thing. I have two of my quilts on my own bed, too. I had my heavily quilted summer quilt on there that is almost as large as the one I'm doing now and when it came time to put on my fall quilt, I just left it there and put the fall leaves-themed one on top of it. So toasty warm!

That was really gross, but good for learning.

Gross for sure.

I was looking into how to change my YouTube channel name and I have to "brand" it, but if I do that, every comment I ever made as me will disappear. Bizarre. I did change my wallpaper on there today to this:

Ew that is gross lol, I’m not sure I could do a necropsy on one of mine. Plus not knowing what I’d be looking at lol. But if she doesnt recover I may cut open that cyst. I thought at first it was an abcess but I lanced it to try to drain any infection but nothing came out. The vet said he doesn’t think there’s anything to do but give antibiotics, so she’s on those for a while and we’ll see if that helps. I know a hard molt can exacerbate underlying health issues but I hope it’s just a one time thing.

Eh, you've seen worse...you're a MOM! LOL. But, seriously, you know the tumors people can have the contain all sorts of tissue, even teeth-someone said it really looked like one of those, forgot what they're called off the top of my head. Antibiotics won't do anything if that's what it is, of course, and it probably isn't affecting her. Neela has had hers for many years.

Lol yeah, I’ve seen plenty of gross stuff from my kids. And I actually loved doing dissections in science classes.

She’s still acting ok, and has always laid eggs fine. The vet said it looked like maybe she got an injury that caused inflammation or something. I’ll probably never know unless she dies and I decide to cut it open.

My Polish hatching eggs never shipped well. Jerseys with feathered legs could mean Langshans. Which are great birds as well and were part of creating Jerseys.
So far they seem nice enough.. got meal worms today from someone on BYC. Kernh. I might try to grow them. I need to look up directions.

h2oratt, growing mealworms is easy. I grow them for my chickens. I use organic bran as the substrate (what they live in, and eat), which is heated then cooled down, and organic carrots for their moisture (they don't drink water, but get it from fruit & vegetable sources). I've tried apples, and other things, but like carrots the best. They like the egg cartons, with holes punched in it, to hide under.

I have 4 containers like this, on a table:
