The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

When we sprayed Maretta's side yesterday, it seemed like the one at the top was much flatter and on the mend. I think the other one would be further along in healing if the scab had not been ripped off prematurely, but it's not too bad. She had much more penicillin than I would usually give a hen of her size already. If she starts to go backward, we'll consider another round.

My son is not at all concerned with his ex. I was just checking to be sure that her other situation had not blown up so she would be coming back to mess him up at this critical time. He is developing a friendship with a young woman, but he won't tell me her name, said he doesn't want to jinx anything and said that Shea did him a favor, his words. He kept dropping hints about a new friendship and a special young lady so I said what gives? I was joking about living well being the best revenge because it looks like he's really coming out of the dark cloud he was in when this all blew up.
Quotes from him:

You know what, I’m not out for revenge. I’m doing what I should’ve done a long time ago. I don’t have the strength for revenge or even to hate her as I should. She did me a favor. I’m getting better. Veins don’t bother me as much since I started lifting, and My blood pressure is at an all time low despite financial strain at the moment and I have a strong developing friendship with a young lady that I couldn’t have had before, and my dogs are healthy and happy. Things are the way they should be.

I asked if I knew this person and to be cautious, and he said no, I didn't know her, then:
Just working on the friendship aspect right now. Neither one of us are anxious to jump into anything right now. Both Are in the same boat, both have full time jobs, and she’s in school at night
.

Holy cow! She must really be loving that fish and chips.
Apparently. The kid was morbidly obese before she got tangled up with him, and I mean like the Michelin man obese. So, they must be doing a lot of "sport eating".

Gypsy is definitely on her way out. I fortuitously moved her, Panda, Emily and Tiny into the little coop so they could go outside more and get more sunshine (that coop is very bright) and have that covered pen. Well, after that was when Gypsy showed she was going to leave us. That entire place smells like death. Gypsy always smelled so fresh and clean, like a dryer sheet; I'd pick her up and bury my nose in her hackles. But now, she has that telltale smell that's like toxins coming out of her body at the last few days. :(

Thanks, I guess she can go in the hole that I originally had ready for Georgie, who seems to have fully recovered (for now....she is 10 years old so the next one could be fatal). Poor Gypsy was always so clean and she smells awful. The entire coop smells sickening. Poor Panda, Emily and Tiny, but I'd rather her be with them than in the barn making it smell that way. She got out and ate grass and clover and was in the warm sunshine so she's back to doing what she loves at least once a day.
