The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

Tried to edit the above post and it would not let me. So, Chris said that one of these actually wants an English teacher who has cerification in ESOL, not the other way around, so I guess his exotic work experience in two countries, plus earning his masters in a third, plus maybe even the fact that he graduated from this school system is making them interested in him.

On the other hand....my other son's restaurant closed up shop and he's basically out of a job. So his "poor me" situation continues. No matter how good he had it, he never acted like he did. He can't come up here to live with me and bring those two huge dogs with him, sorry, Michael.

Well, I am no stranger to adversity and setbacks lately. Just another I have to endure like everyone else. I have been a restaurant manager for 20 years and have never seen anything like this before. My entire company has effectively closed its doors today leaving me jobless. The hunt begins again today for a new job. Was going to go hike Stone Mountain to clear my head and then it starts pouring... this is not my month.

Did the restaurant close permanently, or did they do layoffs?
I need clarification on that. There are several of these owned by the same family. Because of this current situation and their location, I guess, they have had almost no business. He is the one who would do the layoffs, being the general manager, but he was sent home by the owner. The location is actually closed, but not sure if it is permanent or temporary. He made it sound like it was probably permanent. Have to check on that with him. He was recently offered the chance to own the place, only giving 5% of the sales for the first two years with no buy-in money, then he would own it outright. I kept asking when he was going to decide about that offer, then this happened.

I emailed the principal of Lilburn Middle School to accept the teaching position.....pending Gwinnett county receiving completed online surveys from Korea. Sadly, that means I'm not guaranteed a job despite the offer of one. Ugh.

Michael is not technically unemployed, says the company filed for unemployment for all the employees. He is still owed one paycheck, the finance co of his car loan is letting it go for a couple of months, etc. His restaurant was going to be closed when the governor ordered them not to operate with more than 10 people in the restaurant at one time so they just shut the doors since it's a bar & grill type thing.

BTW, loved your latest video blog.

Thanks. I hope some family naysayers will watch that. A nephew who has criticized me asked me for hens. When I said I didn't sell adult hens, he asked for hatching eggs. I said I didn't have enough to sell anyone and eat, too, but I suggested a video to watch before he got anything at all. He's on my crap list anyway. Better watch himself.

Did I read that right on a facebook post? Are you going to shut down Blue Roo?

I'm going to shut it down at least as Blue Roo Quilts. I may change the page up to more go with my Youtube channel subjects, the name and the content, but I am going to "quilt out" some of my fabrics and I plan to sell at least one of my machines. I have lost interest in doing it anymore after over 30 years. I just don't have it in me when there are other things more pressing.
