The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

And back to chickens we're supposed to be talking about. Tessa today. I see the barring appearing sharper than it was previously. I think this one may turn out better than expected. 7 weeks old tomorrow. Lizzie is 23 weeks and no sign of eggs yet.

she has the fuzziest little behind

and I like the pictures

She is a doll, sweet as she can be. But I dread when Aimee rejects her and she has no peer group other than the little D'Anver cockerels that hatched a week before she did. They don't really interact much while on range, probably due to the mamas being cantankerous. And my D'Anver rooster, Spike, who usually loves chicks, is a little mean to her. He knows that chick is the kind that is larger than he is by 8 weeks old and he's dreading it so he chases her away and is good to his sons.

Maybe she needs to be a house chicken. LOL!!! I am sure you could make the most precious diapers for her.

The boy and girl are my dad and his older sister, Reba. The man is Big Daddy Jackson, I think their mother's father. The boy is a cousin of dad's, I guess.

My dad in his dress whites. I'd never seen this picture before my cousin asked for a copy. Had to ask my sister. Apparently, it was at his wife's house, not his. She moved out on him two years ago and I guess he was just too stubborn to go along, stayed in his own house. So he died alone there while hoochie-mama was in New Orleans at the Venezelan embassy doing legal stuff for her family who is still there. I got boxes of pictures, threw out numerous duplicates, scanned a few, but these are the last ones I think I have scanned. I put them away or I could be scanning for weeks. I need to quit looking through them right now, have to distance myself from some of this family stuff emotionally for my own sanity. TMI, right? Sorry.

I donated a little quilt I'd had for sale for quite some time to a sweet lady in SC who is making Burden Bears. If you don't know what those are, this link is someone(not this particular lady) who sells them: http://www.handmadebyjenn.com/Burden-Bears.html

She has MS and someone gave her one so she decided to get into making them for others in need/distress due to health or other issues. She asked me if I'd be interested in helping after seeing this quilt on our Blue Roo Creations Etsy site. So, I sent it off to her yesterday. I'd never heard of them before she contacted me.
