The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

Yikes Cyn! Be careful out there! Do you feed the wild birds? I am sure he would do a number on bird feeders if he got the chance!

No, haven't done that since we got chickens 12 years ago. I do throw out the poopy shavings from the barn out in the pasture to help fertilize it and build up the soil, have been doing that for a couple of months, and there are feathers and probably some feed in those, but no, we don't put out bird feeders here.

Funny how the brain works, or doesn't. I just did not expect to see a bear when I did my usual scan of the pasture. LOL. My husband said that it tells him he needs to be armed if he goes back there in that tangle anymore. I'd say it would apply if a mama and cubs are back there for sure! Not a bad idea anyway because of snakes.

Well, bears aside, here are some chick pics of the 3 week olds, BRs and Brahmas alike. I moved Bonnie and her nine chicks into the barn pen and am getting the former bantam coop ready for Brandy when she hatches hers-she's on Day 20 with 8 eggs, all Brahmas. One or two of these chicks will be Mrs. Hector.
