The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

CCleaner does the registry, removing all the floating parts of things. So far, it seems to be a tad better, but that won't last. Maybe it will give me time to locate a good deal on a better computer. Maybe a gaming machine would have more of what I want.

Oh, boy, I watched a trailer for a new movie about a group of U.S. soldier, a story that began immediately post 9-11. Now, I have no idea how much of it is factual, but when I read the comment section on the trailer, now what I dub The Troll Section, I imagine a bunch of limp-wristed wussies at a coffee bar, sipping their lattes, acting tough and typing nasties that spew from their keyboard courage. God help us all if this is the true representation of what our men *and women* are now. They hide behind screen names, not their real ones, of course, like all coward-bullies.

Sigh.
I hate reading most of the comment sections. I think civil discourse is a lost art.

But I take encouragement in one thing. Usually the troublemakers are not just normal"folks". Many of them are paid to troll for certain causes or torment certain public personalities to "jade" public opinion. Their purpose is to stir up controversy on certain subjects.

I hope they are not the norm, but at this point, I'm doubtful. Yes, I realize that there are paid trolls, crazy thing, that, as if they can't have an opinion unless paid to do so. It's like they're fragile-you can't disagree without someone yelling "hate speech!"-and at the same time, they're violent if they don't get their way, like brats having a tantrum. They make no sense. It reminds me of a line in The Last of the Mohicans, my very favorite movie, where Hawkeye said, "Do not try to understand them and do not try to make them understand you. They are a breed apart and make no sense.". That is about how I feel lately! But, then, I also hear the character Stephanie Tanner, from the old sitcom, Full House, saying, "How RUDE!". I say that all the time now, LOL.
Here you go, in case you don't remember, a montage of her famous line:

Great video. My dad, when helping build our coop, asked if I was going to put a light in because his brother has a light in his coop for winter. I said, “nope! I’m not going to force them to lay when they need a break.” I love my girls and don’t want to wear them out faster than they naturally lay. I figure with 10 new layers I’ll still get a couple a day during winter and that’ll be enough. Right now 8 of them are laying and we average 6 a day which is way more than we use on a normal day. I’ve got 3 dozen eggs right now, time to use up a bunch with scrambled eggs or something lol.

Thank you for that. I doubt there will be any bashing. When Arya 28 started spouting nonsense, I posted a good thread, with links on the actual scientific findings. When Arya 28 got pushy, I pushed back.
Ayria, first off, you've totally misunderstood some of what I said, or taken it way out of context. Then too, some of it is pure nonsense, no matter how forcefully you say it, or how much of an authority you consider yourself to be on the matter.
Arya left the thread, and the OP began asking me questions. Lady of McCamley responded first with some very good information. I posted next, then oldhens chimed in too. People starting out, really needing good information, should be able to get it. That's what BYC is all about. They, nor their flock should have to suffer because of misinformation like that, or the guilt trip they run on people, insinuating that a good flock keeper will do it their way, since their way is so much superior. I don't have a cow, so I don't need the bull.
