The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

Do you use a quilting foot? I have not tried one out yet, maybe when I have more time (just like everything else around here  )

Yep, have to use one of those. This is the one I have:

Cheryl, he's not technically next door, he lives in Murphy, NC. I sent him a msg on his company FB page and asked him to drop by when he had time to get his opinion. He is going to put a small cabin on that lot for his daughter and her husband to stay in when they come to town. He made our pasture for us.

I remember you said you'd be getting neighbors, and it would be his daughter and her husband living on the property. I realize he's not technically a neighbor, but he owns the property, so that counts.

Yes, you are right. He is a very neighborly sort of guy. I think he'd give me an honest opinion. We like Mark.

The grandkids came over yesterday, and they were going to spend the night. The installer cut the bottom of the refrigerator box, and slid it over the top of the fridge. When the grandkids got here, we put the box on the screened in porch for them. They hauled in their little chairs, various toys, and played for quite some time. They got the bright idea to sleep in the box. They dragged pillows and blankets out to the box. They insisted their mom put their pj's on them. It was only 6:30, and we were about to eat supper. We put pajamas on them, fed them, and they played some more. We took some quilts out to put on the bottom for them to lay on, more blankets, because the temps were suppose to drop some during the night, a blanket to put over the opening, and we got it all comfy cozy for them.

Finally, it was bed time. They were so excited. Eventually they settled down, and went to sleep. It's after 8:00 am now, and they're still asleep. Amazing!

Well, a quickly snapped photo of sweet Atlas with his plucked hackles, thanks to Wynette, and the six 6 week old Atlas/MaryJo chicks with mama Maretta, who is showing signs of impatience with them now. I moved them to the barn to clean out the little coop. It's been so wet and nasty, I think they should spend this week there prior to going to their new home. I'm running a round of Corid through them this week, too, so Grady has no issues with them when he takes them home.

A guy who works at the co-op says they carry a new gamecock conditioner feed (what I feed my birds as "scratch", 13 way, 16% protein) that they feel is better than the current one. What do you folks think of this one? It's about $14, same as the other scratch grain mix I currently buy and has the peas my birds love-I'm amazed he remembered my birds love the peas.
