The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

Wow Robin that is scary! That is exactly why I unplug my Iaptop every time I use it. Bet those turkeys won't show up at your doorstep again anytime too soon.

Lisa we've been very very dry here all summer, but north of us and south of us they have had excess rain. Sounds just the same as Wisconsin. We did get rain yesterday afternoon and evening, although most of it passed us to the South. We are grateful for anything at this point. Some of the trees are already changing, and I'm sure it's due to water stress.
Hey there, I am flying into Michigan on sat. We are having our national dog show at frankenmuth, mi. Looks like rain is in our forecast.

Thought you'd like this. This is a story about my husband's maternal grandfather in an old newspaper.

Self sufficiency report: Crowder Peas, grown here, canned here. Mostly they came out of the compost pile, though we have a row planted in the garden. They also came back in the spot they were planted last year, sneaked in behind the bell peppers, LOL. Grown from peas dried and given to us in a jar by my late father maybe 20 years ago. Can't do that with GMO's, people! They'll produce a few more weeks, probably.

What do you do with them? Are they just like dry or canned beans?

We grow them, pick and shell them, then cook them with ham for flavoring and can them under pressure. They're really good. We put them over cooked rice or over/with cornbread. Yum!
