The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

Pics
Atlas & Co. are now 10 weeks old. They are living with the elderly hens along with three older youngsters (15 weeks old) and seem to be doing well. I'd have put the older pullets in with their permanent flock but they are hatchery stock and much smaller than my others at this age, so they seem way too small to make it in with two grown roosters and eight huge hens. The old hens are too old to much care about their presence so attempts to peck or chase are just halfhearted.

Atlas was checking that camera out.

I have one Barred rock hen and she is sooo sweet, but none of the other hens bother her. She is the queen. Her name is Emma.

I love the name Emma. I thought of that but I already have an Emily, my Black Rock hen who lives with the old ladies due to a leg issue she has that makes it hard for her to deal with a rooster's attentions. This bunch is super sweet and I'm already becoming attached to them. Atlas is my little buddy.
