And there is one more of Sammie Jo's eggs under my EE hen, Maretta, too, due March 12. So, we shall see what a 1/2 Delaware and a (what the heck is the percentage on Sammie if both of her parents were 1/2 Delaware??) another part Dellie will produce. I'm betting on a Delaware looking chick.
My sweet Isaac, I can't help but think he's living on borrowed time. He's outlived every other rooster here so far, Suede having passed on just about four months before he turned six years old. Last winter was so hard on him, losing his toe ends from his bad circulation. And a few summers before that, the fungal lung infection compromised his lung capacity permanently. All in all, he's one tough old bird.
