Zane was just a special soul. I've loved roosters, like Isaac and Suede, but there was always something about Zane that grabbed my heart. Maybe it was his will to live and be happy in his situation.Sigh. Losing beloved animals is just so heartbreaking.
People probably think we're crazy when we talk about a chicken with affection.
Sorry about Lizzie. Loved your latest video!
That's both horrible new, and good news. Poor Liz.Zane was just a special soul. I've loved roosters, like Isaac and Suede, but there was always something about Zane that grabbed my heart. Maybe it was his will to live and be happy in his situation.
Thanks. We checked out Liz this a.m. She cannot stand, just sways and tips forward, tucks her upper leg in and her foot outward. The injury seems to be to the hip joint; it's definitely painful up in there, like maybe Atlas jumped on her and her leg was splayed outward. I just hope there is not a crack in the bone or she is doomed. She is a strong, young hen and I hate to lose her. She even proved herself as a broody this year. And I don't relish trying to put down a hen who is not ill and will fight it. So, she got an egg with aspirin in it and more vitamins and we'll see. It's going to take some time.
ETA: Talking to a man on FB whose mother has lots of Brahma varieties and he's interested in the blue partridge male. He lives a little over an hour away so he may come get him.
That's both horrible new, and good news. Poor Liz.
