Things are suddenly crazy. We went from 5 foot snow drifts to spring within 2 weeks.Cool! I moved Bonnie to the newly cleaned coop with freshly constructed mini-pen yesterday. And today, when I moved her bowl of food in front of her, she bit the fire out of my hand. Bonnie, unlike Brandy, becomes very, very testy about four days before the hatch and that continues until a day or so afterward. She's a fierce mama!
My husband went to a flea market along the way to a feed store to buy some new plants for the garden and bought me a tripod for my video camera! It was only $5, a great price and works beautifully. Maybe now I can do more quilting videos and have less shaky ones, too. He's always thinking about me.
Hey, where is Lisa? Calling @oldhenlikesdogs ! How are things on the farm? I see that your temps are finally spring-like over there.
I have 9 baby bunnies I'm messing with, I got my hatching eggs and thankfully I got my broodies, one Wyandotte is setting the big eggs, some olive eggers, and frizzle Easter eggers, and 3 bantams are setting the other 15 which are bantam eggs except for an extra polish egg. I'm not sure how that will work as I was hoping all 3 bantams would raise their chicks, but I know things gets nuts and confused as eggs are hatching, especially with multiple mother next to each other, so we shall see if I have to snatch them or not.
My ordered chicks come in 3 weeks too, I didn't need more chickens, but apparently I can't help myself.
The grass is starting to grow here finally. One more week of hay left. The goats have been getting less so lots of whining from them.
I planted some bagged perennials, and seeded my lettuce and radish. Chickens are out scratching the mulch out of beds, and ducks are swimming in the deep puddles.
I fired up my pond and moved my big goldfish out, now I have to move fish and shut down one tank.
It's been too warm already, I'm wearing shorts and running the fan in the window at night. Basement is flooded as our sump pump line is either froze or plugged. My husband rigged something up but it's still a mess.
I took my started annuals and tomatoes out to my shed so they can sit out in the sun and fresh air, and harden off.
I'm getting tired reading everything I have been up to, but it isn't too bad.
I need to go feed critters now, which is much easier without having to slog through snow.
