The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

My X-in-laws built a genuine log, log cabin years ago on their lake property. That's the only reason I know a bit about them. They are beautiful, and the logs are fantastic insulation, so not much air, or heat are needed to maintain them at a perfectly comfortable temperature. They're pretty, and fit right in with a country setting.

There are a lot of them here, however, it seems that builders have chosen to do more stick-built with log siding than anything else. That changes the mass that provides the good insulation. I've always wanted a real log home, but the cost is prohibitive. Only the most expensive homes here seem to have the full round logs, or the thicker D-logs.

The most expensive log home or any listing, in Mineral Bluff right now, a British Columbia cedar log home, over 5.7Mil. This is just down the road from me. I feel like I'm the slums next to some of these houses.

Maddie and Jane are turning 12 weeks on Tuesday. I put Gypsy, Panda, Emily and Tiny in the coop with them since it has an attached temporary pen and was already "furnished". They were probably a bit lonely after seeing their "brothers" taken away yesterday. Tiny seems a little afraid of them, which I found odd. Maybe her eyesight is getting worse. Usually, she picks on kids, but since none of the other hens are bothering them, maybe she thinks they're adults, who knows?

 My husband would never be able to find me in that place. I could double and even triple my dog numbers. :) The helicopter landing pad is a nice touch too.
