The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

Cynthia, applebys is good. I had my daughter's friend worked there and she said the kitchen was spotless and they treated their employees pretty good. I've never had a problem with any food. There was one a mile off the road from us in florida so we did takeout alot.

Not very. Blue Ridge probably has about 1400 people in city limits. The county we live in has around 24,000 people. Murphy, NC might have 1700 people, but that could be low since they added a casino on the reservation there and it's popular. That county has around 28,000 people. Neither is huge, but lots larger than my tiny town, which has about 250 people in it.

It's pasture, but it's the extra lot and we haven't been able to fence it yet. Still needs three sides and a gate. They say goats eat scrub and brush more than they graze like cattle. And they have complicated nutritional needs as well, apparently. I really would rather get a dog if I get any animal that needs a veterinarian and just cut the pasture myself. We talked about growing out a calf on that land, but again, that requires complete fencing.
Sorry I haven't been around much. Busy with endless health stuff.

Definitely don't get goats unless you like trouble. They will destroy everything than complain you aren't feeding them enough. :)

Definitely noticed you weren't around, Lisa. Hope you're okay. No, don't want me no trouble! No, never considered goats, too much trouble

I had my second knee replaced last fall, than one of my shoulder replacement reversed last week. I got kinda bogged down in the "why me" thinking. I'm finally picking my head up out of the muck. :)

I still have 10 goats. I am done after these go. I'm getting too old for all their shenanigans. :old

No goats or ducks here. Nope. One of the girls I worked with thought it would be fun to get a couple "little" goats and let them run free at her new place. After I stopped laughing, I had to explain why I thought it was funny.

I was curious and looked up the Mackinac county population - 10,700. And there is not a single stop light in the county. Nearest Wal Mart, TSC are 25 miles away. But just like out West, people think that is just a pleasure drive. It would be heaven except for the long winters ( there are still a couple stubborn snow piles along the driveway), but I guess that keeps folks away.
