I am so upset and blindsided by this news! My doctor died over the weekend. I really liked her. She was only 55, not sure what happened, sounded sudden, but I don't like the others in that office so I'll have to locate a new one. A really good doctor is not easy to find, one that really listens and adjusts to the patient. RIP, Dr. Severson.
I received this notice today:

It is with great sadness that I am reaching out to let you know that Dr. Kathirae Severson passed unexpectedly over the weekend. She was a talented and caring physician who was exceedingly dedicated to her patients. She was beloved by her patients and staff and will be extremely missed by all.

I've gotten notices from doctors that were retiring, but never one that died. Sorry to hear that. Yes, a good doctor is not easy to find.

Many doctors have left, transferred, retired, started their own practices out of the groups, but this was a first for me. Tom lost three or four doctors over the past year, even his at the VA. Can't keep them around here.

That's awful. I would hate starting over with another doctor. I find (and this may not help you) is making copies of all you dx, meds, treatments, etc, then store them in your Computer and just print off what you need. I found that was my saving grace when I moved, and still is. Now they actually have all this info on some "my chart" website. Don't know if you do it or it would help , but I'll open my big mouth anyway.

They have the My Chart and the new dr is in the same general Piedmont group, just a bit further away. I have only three scrips and only one is crucial to have refilled. I am so far ahead on the other two with extra supply that I could go a year without a new refill on those two.

I've worked on my gardening , chicken maintenance and horse maintenance these past few weeks. Lord I never realized that I should have thought of what to do with 50 lbs of manure a day. We had to buy a spreader so we can spread it all over the property and it disappears.
I guess we all look at our seeds and wait and wait for them to come out.

Did I mention on this thread, that the day before I went to Alabama, that one of the mutt hens hatched a chick? The entire flock is gaga over it.

The mama did not get mean. The rooster is so proud. All 11 hens are so mindful, and in awe of it, and daddy too. I put a couple small waterers, and a couple small feeders in the coop for it. The rest of the flock has buckets for water, and the big feeders. Nope, every freaking hen I have, is helping teach the chick to drink, and eat. The problem is, they're going through all it's water, and feed very quickly. I put out a bunch more waterers, and feeders. That has helped. At night, NOBODY is on the roost. The mother, is sleeping in the corner, chick underneath, and every single chicken in there, has them surrounded. NOTHING is going to get near that chick at night, nor is the chick going to get past them all, unnoticed.

When mama goes outside the coop, into the run, chick in tow, the rest pile out, single file, behind the chick. When mama goes back in, chick in tow, every single one of them, heads back into the coop, single file, right behind the chick. It's so rewarding to watch. Comical too.

That is so sweet! I used to have something like that when I had 4 silkie hens. They also stole nesting eggs from eachother. Sheesh.

Not thrilled with Amazon Pantry. Every box arrives with crushed items, barely even taped shut. They put packing materials on top, but not between the stuff. Looks like it came off the scratch-and-dent shelf. So far, Amazon Prime is not making me very happy. Shipping is not faster on most things now anyway.

I did order a big man's desk chair for Tom. He's killed two we got already, one from a furniture store and one from a thrift store, and I figured it was because of his latest weight gain. He's at the top weight for most of them so I bought one that says it holds 400 lbs +. He's nowhere near that, but if it's made for someone that large, I figured it should hold better and have more support. It arrived yesterday, was easy to put together, had extra bolts/screws in the package, adjustable arm rests, etc. Hopefully it will last. This one:

I got a very similar chair for my office when I had a receptionist that was in the 300# range, after she demolished a Steelcase heavy duty chair. It has lasted for several years so far, longer than she did . I think it was more comfortable for her as well, as it is both wider and deeper than regular chairs.

Eventually, I need to get one for Dh. The one he has, I got years ago, and it has held up well for him. It was way too big, and uncomfortable for me. I have a great secretary chair, that I got second hand, years ago.
