I hope the owner actually does something. Maybe they will, but being put on the spot, talking to a stranger, they weren't sure what to say.

If it was me on that end, I'd have felt inclined to at least apologize, but of course, if my dog was on someone else's land, it would be because of a hard-won escape, not because I was allowing it. He had no idea if someone up here was deathly afraid of dogs and he seemed uninterested in the location of his very handsome Shepherd. So, if he doesn't care, neither do I, and you know what that means. He's definitely in violation of GA and county law.

I wish I knew if he was renting or who he really is. The county still has that property owned by Mark Wilson, though he's supposedly deceased. Could be that Mark Jr has left it that way to take advantage of the tax break, but I have no idea. Maybe I should call the county to see who actually is the owner, but they may have no idea, either, unless their online records are just out of date.

Of course, you are a responsible owner, Cheryl! I'd never expect anything less from you. This is just one of my pet peeves and I get so angry when people don't show any real care for their dogs.
Got some news a few minutes ago:
Well, well, well, Mark Jr. is living down there. He called today to apologize for the dog coming up here yesterday. Apparently, it belongs to someone who visits there regularly and he said it's a service dog. Not sure that means an official service dog since it was running all over the place, maybe an emotional support dog of some sort, you know how that goes. At least, now I know that the kid who threatened to kill all our chickens many years back if we shot his dog has grown up a little bit. We told him we were very sorry to hear about his dad, who had kidney cancer. He said he's been thinking about getting some chickens and may want our advice. I hope they keep that dog down there. I really do not want trouble again.

Service dog for many people is a term used to get their dogs in where they don't belong. There are not nearly as many actual service dogs, and they are not only well trained, but not allowed to roam. I'm glad he called you though, that was quite thoughtful, and shows that he wants to get along.

Even with a well trained service dog, one must walk the boundaries of the property with it, to show it where it belongs. A true emotional support dog, is still highly trained. It's the ones that some people claim as emotional support dogs, without any training, that are problematic.

I'm glad he called you back. Hopefully, they will be aware, and make some effort to correct the problem.

I'm not buying the service dog line. I think he said that to maybe stop me from shooting the dog, maybe felt I'd think twice about it. Sorry, I won't let my chickens be slaughtered if I can help it, no matter what dog is endangering them. He'd better get that through his head. We'll see.

I can't take it anymore! No more Disney singalongs, please! And my husband leaves the TV on The Cinderella Channel when he has nothing else to watch, aka The Hallmark Channel. I'm gonna be diabetic before you know it if I have to watch one more of those sappy movies. Sorry, same movie, different actors (sometimes it's the same repeat actors, though). I can't take it, I'm going to explode in a shower of sugar crystals!

Oh, by the way, the dog was loose and up at the street today when I walked to get the mail. So, I still have a dog issue. My sign should be here tomorrow and I will plant that so they can hopefully see it if they look up this way.
