I was just reading a thread about a duck in distress. The problem started in July, and finally reached out about it in NOVEMBER. I've seen that before, where people take quite some time to reach out about a problem, or wait until the animal is on it's last leg, then expect miracles.

Generally, poultry issues are time sensitive to some degree. Either they wait too long to ask for help or they ignore the help they're given. That's why I don't even go into Emergencies anymore unless someone tags me.

Exactly. I consulted with a new chicken owner who subs my channel and has her own very successful one about the first possible egg binding in her young flock; turned out to be an EE pullet who was coming into lay and her first egg was difficult, but this person had listened to my channel and had done all the right things already. She called on the phone last night. We were discussing bad chicken advice on YouTube and she asked which person in particular I was thinking of (seemed she had someone in mind, too) and when I told her, she was howling with laughter. She is of the same opinion, said when she got chickens, everyone was trying to send her to that lady's channel. She is a smart cookie and knew bull hockey when she heard it. Too bad most don't.

I snorted! I love it!

Isn't that great?! I often think that a flock of hungry chickens could pick a body clean in no time flat, not to mention I have a very large compost pile of poopy barn shavings.

So, we're checking out at Walmart and the cash register stops after 150 items. They have to close that out, start over and add the last six to the total. I asked if that was normal though we've never had that happen in the past with a register just because we had more than 150 items. The two checkers standing there said it was always like that (no, it wasn't). My husband chimes up and quips, "Are they made by DOMINION?". I don't think they were amused in the least, LOL, but me?

Guys delivered three loads of seasoned firewood in one huge dump yesterday and Tom asked if they could take down that huge oak that uprooted awhile back and is hung up on another tree. Today they are coming to take it down and buck it into firewood for us for $100 and we keep that wood, so a good deal, I think. I said why not see if they can take down those two huge oaks right in the middle of our driveway turnaround that always make getting in here and out hard for delivery drivers? So, maybe, just maybe after almost 19 years of dealing with those, we can have them gone, get the stumps ground and the driveway re-rocked. We'll see! They'll be here soon, have to get on my public face.

They'll do it! When it's closer to summer and they are not super busy with firewood all over the place, they will come out and take those two huge oaks down, buck them into firewood for just $300 TOTAL! They can also grind the stumps for an extra charge, of course. FINALLY! They did cut up the hung up oak at the back of the chicken pen into manageable lengths and we'll split it later, but that is next year's firewood.
