The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

Boy the headers look weird on BYC. Anyway, this morning, he was very excited to see some scrambled egg dumped into his bowl, just chattered away, not in the least aggressive. And we heard a rooster crow on a ridge past the Wilsons' property that has the same sound as this guy. Could be related since roosters in the same family tend to sound similar. It's maybe possible he could have traveled down the hill, across my next door neighbor's acreage, up the hill, jumped my fence and found my chickens so Tom went to drive to see if he could find the house where that other rooster is sounding off from, not easy the way these roads twist and turn in here as well, as the way sound travels in the mountains. If we find his owner, Grady will understand.

No luck. He went up and down some streets, did not see any chicken pens, went to one house with three cars and no one would answer the door. No idea where that rooster was that we are hearing. So, we did what we could. Guess Grady has himself a new young BR boy.

Danger, Will Robinson! I'm starting to like him. Every time I see him, I think of the song The Wanderer by Dion so I have already called him Dion twice. HELP!
He has a very nice crow! And looks beautiful. You sound all pepped up, I think this rescue is good for you!

I could hear more than one different rooster, was that your roosters also crowing?
Yes, Atlas and Hector were crowing from behind my right shoulder while the other rooster was crowing up on the ridge in the direction Dion was looking off into the distance once he heard it. We have a lot of chickens in all directions, but finding exactly where they are is tricky.
Grady won't be here until tomorrow, his appointment ran late. I think his wife has cancer and she may have had a treatment today. We told him no problem, we'd just bed the boy down with some extra hay tonight and he'll be fine until he can come get him.
