I think five pounds would get heavy, quick! It's amazing how much they can weigh when you swing your arms. Two pounds is a great place to start, see how that feelsStill doing the elliptical every day. I haven't missed a day yet!
Can someone tell me... if I were to start "power walking" (if that's the right term; walking with some handweights and moving your arms in rhythm), what would be a good starting weight to use? Is 2 pounds good, or just laughable? I have one 2 pounder, so I could buy a second. I have a pair of 5 pounders, but think that might be too much.

So far I've gone just over fifty. I've got a 5K race this weekend, and I'm going to try to beat 31 minutes, which is my fastest time in a race.
