I have an order of 5 buff cochin bantams, 5 cuckoo maran pullets, a cuckoo maran cockerel, 5 golden laced wyandotte pullets, a golden laced wyandotte cockerel, and 10 black silkies coming in on the 22nd from Cackle. I'm not a first timer, but I'm still really excited! There's nothing cuter than a baby chick. 8D

Today is one month till my babies ship! I'm getting really excited! I ordered-

Getting winter chicks in 2 weeks from Ideal. 3 black and 2 brown sex links, 2EE's, 2 Australorpes, 2 Barred Rocks, and 2 Rhode Island Reds. For a new twist this year, I am also getting 3 little Blue Swedish Ducklings. Anyone else expecting babies soon?

I'm awaiting my first chicks. They are supposed to go in the mail from My Pet Chicken a week from today. Ten little Barred Plymouth Rocks. I was constantly changing my mind about breed till I read the Barbara thread. I'm so excited. We have nearly finished the coop and the brooder box is waiting in the garage for the little darlings. I may possibly be getting some creamed Legbar chicks locally this weekend depending on how a hatch turns out.

Congrats! BR's are my favorites. Cream Legbars are amazing too... I can't find any around here. Are you getting just pullets, Straight run, or a roo or two?

The Barred Rocks are pullets but if I get the creamed legbars I'm hoping for 2 pullets and a male. They're a little pricey. Then hopefully one protector, some potentially blue egg babies someday, and I wonder what chicks would look like with acream Legbar dad and Barred Rock mom if some of those eggs were hatched.

Ooh... Fun! That would be a fun combination. Hopefully you get all pullet BR's, my friend got a couple cockerels last year.

I'm waiting for my first chicks too! They shipped today from Meyer Hatchery. 4 Buff Orpingtons, 4 Easter Eggers, and 1 mystery. All pullets. So excited!
