The Fathers Day Hatch-A-Long!!! The Last Day To Set eggs Is June 3rd!!!!

the second set of duck eggs aren't showing signs of life yet... hopefully I get something out of that batch
3 out of 4 of the goose eggs are showing little spiders!

I haven't checked the turkey eggs yet.. probably ought to do that since we only had one Tom with those girls...

The eggs I set for the hatch-a-long aren't due to hatch till Friday, but I had one pip this afternoon! I thought I was going crazy today hearing chirping, but it's possible I guess since one pipped already. Fingers crossed some of my silkies make it.

I think I hear little cheeps everytime I turn my eggs so when I hear the real thing , I am still surprised. Fingers crossed for all your silkies.

I'm going to try to stop adding eggs early next week so I can be done hatching around July 4th, yeah right, I'll turn the incubator off. That IS the plan.

I candled last night removed 21 then I added
9 bcm
7 mfd
2 from my silkie pen
That brings the total to 238
I'm adding 21 guniea eggs today for a total of 259
The one I pulled were across the board shipped eggs, not bad considering most of the eggs I have set have been shipped.
I have pulled 96/355 so like 1/4 mostly shipped eggs. I think that's pretty good. That's allot of eggs.
My friend has me beat he has 59 dozen not shipped eggs in his incubator.

HOLY COW!!!! I thot I was bad...lol

Candled last night Day 9, 5 of the 16 looked clear or funky, marked those, the others
had some veining, so hopefully they will progress from here. Will recandle at day 16, and toss
then.

Dunno how others do it, but all of mine are color coded by batch & set date. I mark a number on 1 side of each egg & a code for what it is on the other side. The colors of the codes & numbers tell me when to stop turning & expect hatch I keep a notebook of what color each batch is, what was in it & when I set it. I also mark lockdown & hatchday on the list.

I would like to see that notebook page. When they get to lockdown day do you separate or move them? I'm trying to imagine the logistics of this in even a fraction of that kind of volume.
