Everything is crossed with Blue Amer. He's my only roo and a busy boy. He's not perfectly correct but he's so good with the hens I love him (I've had bad luck w roos). And he came from beautiful egg color, so I'm hoping for at least that from him. The white eggs are super Leghorns, green are super EE's, browns are not so super but good SLW, BO, Austra, and the dark browns are a good laying Marans that I got from Steve in Lehi. Oh and the blue blue are from my Ameraucana hen, the only reason I got the roo. She loves him and doesn't want to share, so she looks horrid right now. Just pulled the Fav crosses after candle tonight, not developing well. But I got a great hatch from her eggs a batch ago, no complaints. They are gorgeous, but not big egg layers.
I got blue (bird color) Olive eggers too, about half blue and half black - I can tell even with out my vetwrap because they have the Marans' feathered legs.
I would like to find a show girl or a Polish crested for my Bro-in-law for Father's Day. He's my hub's brother, and my hatch buddy. He has tried the polish from shipped eggs and has not had any success. He hatches my eggs like hotcakes! And he has one lonely showgirl that he's keeping, that was a surprise with a silkie egg order, and he loves her. The silkies did not do well.
See you back on Utah! thread.
