The two phoenixes huddled together at the top of a towering pine. One gold and one red, their two sets of plumage shined in the rising sun as they watched the day begin.
They were alone and running, flying, from the small group of people who had followed them for years.
They were safe now, at least from the group of hunters.
"Now what?" asked the golden female bird.
"Our family will be safe," her mate replied.
"I hope so." The female looked out over the valley. She and her mate were the last Phoenixes on earth.

One hundred years ago the last two phoenixes in the world traveled to an undiscovered valley to escape a group of people that had formed to capture them. Eventually the group disappeared and the phoenixes were forgotten. The two phoenixes had a family that grew until the species was thriving in the valley, now called Cinia. Now there are several flocks that thrive there.Who will you fly with?
Rules:
- No cursing.
- In a fight ONE blow per post. The other person decides the injury.
- You can only dodge 1 out of 4 blows aimed at you. All other times your character must take an injury at least as bad as a papercut.
- No invincible characters. Your characters powers cannot be ridiculously awesome (but they can be mildly awesome/epic!) or you will be asked to lower the amount of power they have.
- No controlling another person's character unless they give you permission first.
- No killing/crippling someone else's character unless they give you permission
- Only phoenixes! This limits the RP, I know, but it keeps it WAY easier.
- Phoenixes are normally red or gold or orange, but I'll let you pick what colors you want your characters to be. Just please do not make any hot pink, neon rainbow, or other crazy feathered birds.
- You may create your own flock of birds, but there are only two more territories, so hurry!
- Be realistic in s fight, you can't do a backflip in the air and shoot an insanely accurate beam of fire at your opponent. In fact, please don't even use the backflip.
- You can blast with fire...other phoenixes are immune to it.
- The power you choose for your character is the ONLY magic they can use UNLESS I say you can use a certain (must be weak) spell, chant, etc.
- Healing must be realistic! It should take AT LEAST a REAL day for your character to heal from minor wounds after a battle. (A broken bone would be a week or longer!)
- Phoenixes are around the size of an eagle. No impossibly large or small ones please!
- Regarding the rule above: These birds are not large! Fruit and small mammals are some of the things they would probably eat.
- You can have as many characters as you want as long as it isn't crazy like 100!
- Ranks are are given first come, first served.
Power Rules:
- ALL phoenixes have the ability to control/summon fire and are not harmed by it.
- You may choose one extra power for your character.
- Teleporting is banned. Forever.
- Speed healing/healing someone is also banned. The only healing ability your character may have is the ability to give their life to save someone.
- Transformations/morphing into other creatures is permanently banned. Your phoenixes must stay phoenixes!
- Any power that allows you to immobilize, render helpless, or kill another character instantly is banned.
- I'd like it if you didn't use a power that is crazy with the fire one like water control, but it's up to you if you want that to be your extra one.
Ranks of A Flock:
- Lead Male: One of the leaders of the flock and always the mate of the Lead Female. He makes important decisions for the flock with her
- Lead Female: One of the leaders of the flock and always the mate of the Lead Male. She makes important decisions for the flock with him.
- The Favilla Bird: A very ancient rank, the Favilla bird oversees the things the Lead pair can't for the flock. In extreme cases where the lead pair is absent or dead, they will take control of the flock solo and eventually become one of the Lead Birds. The new Favilla Bird is chosen by the Lead Phoenixes if the present one dies or retires.
- Flockbirds: These are the phoenixes that make up most of the flock. They are respected by each other but rarely have a big effect on the largest decisions on the well-being of the flock.
- Chicks/Fledlgings: The youngest birds in the flock who have not received ranks yet.
