Having a hen raise the chicks is so much fun to watch. She teaches them so much more than we can in a brooder box...

Very cute!! Isn't it amazing how they just know how to do that? I have some I hatched out in the incubator a few days ago and one is already trying to dust bath in the extra food they kicked around on the floor of thier brooder. No mamma to teach him...just instincts, I guess.
 
One of mine did this today after I added new bedding. The the others came around and picked the bedding out of her feathers. They are about 2.5 weeks old. So cute!
 
One of my 2 week old chicks was giving herself a dust bath in the pine shavings today. Pretty funny, and cute.
