THE FIRST EGG MY CHICKENS LAID

My 3 hens in the run/coop lay from 2pm till about 5pm. I hope you find where she is laying soon

Returning them to the run early did the trick.... But she laid a weird one with no shell. I had found one of these out in the middle of the yard last week, I suspected it was Peep's then. Then there was another one on the floor of then henhouse under where she was roosting this morning ... So she laid that one shortly after the one she laid yesterday evening. I guess she's just "working the kinks out".

So...have y'all ever seen or heard your birds practicing their egg song before laying an egg? There was a lot of noise coming from one of our bantams earlier this afternoon but no egg.

Eeeeeeeek I am so sos so so so so so exited this is literally My first flock ever and my girls are going to lay in less than four weeks!!!!!!!!!!!! I will post a picture of my first egg EVER!!!

I raised game chickens about 12 years ago and they laid a few eggs with out shells. I got them some oyster shells and that helped. I give my present chickens grit and all the eggs mine lay have shells.
