THE FIRST EGG MY CHICKENS LAID

The past 2 days my BCM has given a much darker egg. The others were like the speckled egg in the back row. The dark eggs in the first and second row are the last 2 days. Today's is darker than yesterday - I wonder if she'll always throw different eggs, or if they will settle out. I'd love even darker.... I need to get a color chart. They are peewee sized again though :lau It's so interesting to follow the early laying habits of fickle birds.

My FBCM just started a few days ago and they are like your back speckled one. I'm hoping they'll get darker too :) and I love your egg holder!

You have some pretty eggs Katieuppi. I'm going to have to get me a BCM some day so that I can have some nice eggs like yours.

I have two porcelain bantams, and a game bantam pullet in a pen together. I got a white egg from their nest twice last week. But today the egg from their nest is brown. So I think that one of the two porcelain started laying because game bantams lay white eggs and porcelain brown.

One of my Buff Brahma bantams laid first egg today! Awesome She is 23 weeks and 3 days old. 5 - 6 months seems to be the average age for bantams to start laying. But there are always exceptions!

It looks like both of our Ameracauna's are laying. One egg is blue and has been blue for the last week or so. Today, we got our first what looks to be a green-ish blue egg. We're excited either way but wondering if We were sold another breed. Hmmm?!?

:welcome where did you buy your chickens? I have 5 Easter Egger chickens 3 are laying. 2 lay the same color eggs as yours and one lays a light green egg. I bought mine from Murray McMurray hatchery. The box that they came in says Araucanas but they are not. They are Easter Eggers. They are nice looking eggs though. I love my EASTER Egger chickens
