The first eggs

So one of my chickens layed her first. It's the first one in the whole flock actually. But this was 3 days ago. I know it's not like they get their switch turned on and start laying on a daily basis, but how long does it take untill she does it constantly? She's 6 months old.

I think it really depends on the birds.

We went through this recently with a new flock. Some of the pullets started and lay most days, while two others have been a bit patchy, laying every few days, some have been soft or thin shells.

I guess it just takes different birds a bit of time to get settled into a pattern
