The first peeping

My first egg started peeping 2 hrs ago poped a little,hole but now its not doing anything hasnt peeped anymore was wondering if this has happend to anyone and is the chick ok. Im trying not to open the incubator to check if I can hear peeping from the chick but if I dont see any progress in 4-5 more hours is it safe to take it out and listen for noise? First time incubating..

2 hours isn't long. they often take a long rest at this point. since this is the first to pip it doesn't sound like they are overdue so leave the incubator shut or you might damage it or it's hatching buddies...

our first was 6 to 7 hrs after the first hole.

We'll. now it's trying to break through real bad. The funny part is I put my music on and it motivated the chick lol
