Hi all....Your gonna love this! I have created a user-friendly toolbar "The Flock" that works with internet Explorer and Firefox which will enable you to search the web swiftly using Google search engine, receive notification that you have new mail from all your mail accounts, view the daily local weather as well as see the all the chicken forum topics and chat with other Flock users all from a convenient tidy toolbar that you can customize!

It is completely Free to download and use!!!

http://theflock.communitytoolbars.com/

After you download the FREE toolbar here are a few tips on how it works:

You will see a weather icon to the far right. The weather is probably set to a different region, reset to your local weather by clicking on the icon, then click "change location". Type in your City/Town then click "select" for the town you choose -- Voila you will now be able to check your local weather just by opening your web browser you can set it to view in CO or F.

Next you will see a little hut with a pull down menu. These are convenient gadgets you can use right from the toolbar. A to=do list, A place to take notes, a calculator, a quick Wikkapedia search, a unit converter and even a little internet TV.

To the Left of that you will see "Cluck" click this anytime to chat with other Flock members. Next is a quick list of chicken sites if you would like your site added to this list e-mail me at [email protected] and I will add any chicken related sites.

To the left of that is a hut labeled BYC this will instantly connect you to Backyardchickens.com Then the biggie...Chicken Feed... This will allow you to review all the Yuku BYC forum topics. From here you can save interesting topics so you don't loose them...I know I find it hard to find a thread on BYC after a few days go by. Now you can simply delete topic and save the ones you are watching for future reference.

I love the e-mail notifier: Many of us have several e-mail accounts, sometimes its hard to keep track of them all. In this handy toolbar you will see a tab called "E-mail Notifier" This handy feature will notify you of any new e-mail from all the e-mail accounts you enter. Simply click on the E-mail notifier tab then click the "Add" button to add an e-mail account. For each e-mail you add, choose weather it is a hotmail/msn mail, a yahoo mail, a gmail or any regular e-mail (also called a POP3) POP3 e-mails are e-mails such as Rogers and Sympatico. Once you have chosen the type of e-mail, simply type in the e-mail address, the password that you use for that account and a name for the account. For example if this e-mail is your business e-mail, type in "business" or if it is a personal account, "type in "personal". This is a great feature for those with multiple e-mail accounts as the notifier will let you know which account has new mail.

You can further customize the toolbar by clicking on the arrow next to the orange "Spray Advisory" go to "options" and fiddle away until you have a toolbar you love or simply leave it as-is for a tidy user-friendly toolbar.

The search box is neat. If you highlight any text within a page it will automatically type it into the search box for you.
If you want to visit the Yuku BYC forum anytime, just click on the brown nesting box to the far left. Next to this box is a little arrow with a pull down menu fiddle with this and you can customize your toolbar.

This toolbar will not over-ride your current toolbars. It will be at the top of your screan in addition to the toolbars you use now. If you use the toolbar but don't want to see it there all the time, simple go to View (at the top of your browser) Toolbars...Then Uncheck The Flock Toolbar. If you wish to see it again do the same and simply check The Flock Toolbar. I hope you find this a fun way to connect to all things chicken and both BYC forums.

OK OK OK...What's in it for me? I will get a very very very small fee each time this toolbar is downloaded and used, I can cash out only when it reaches $250...I have yet to have a toolbar reach that BUT if it does...I will discuss it with all users and donate 1/2 to any chicken charity or group...the other half will feed my chickies .... and you will get to enjoy a free user-friendly toolbar

What kind of proof would you like? I have been a member of the old BYC forum now for several years (6 I think)....I am a chicken person too and am using this bar myself...

I completely understand any concerns but those that know me know I wouldn't do anything to harm you.

Let me know what kind of proof you would like and I'll see what I can provide to you.

Judie - Great job on the tool bar. What a great idea to tailor it to chickens. Love the features and have not had any problems with it.

It is a bit confusing for those of us that don't know about the Yuku BYC forum. I think I have figured out that it is the old ezboard forum....but I'm still trying to figure out how it all works. The Yuku BYC forum is completely different and separate from this one .... is that right? I love the RSS, mail, weather, etc.... nice job. Thanks

Hi ZuniBee & thanks!!!

Yess the Yuku forum (use to be the EZ board) is the old BYC but it is still very active and has RSS feeds that I have attached to the toolbar. This BYC however don't have feeds yet, but when it gets RSS I will also add this to the bar as well.

Here's the other forum:

Glad you enjoy it.

I figure the toolbar is a good way to keep both chicken groups connected and when this site offers feeds then it will be even better.

Hi Rocket... I followed the links and don't understand your concerns...Please enlighten me as I do not want to offer anyone anything they feel may be a risk...Many large companies and organizations use Conduit to create toolbars:

Looks realy nice, its gona save me some keystrokes. Checked most of it out and I really like what I see. The Gadget thing looked interesting.
Is it possible to remove the email thingy? I already have that in my main bar.
