Ari sat up reaching over to her bedside table she pulled a comb through her thick black hair. She smiled and switched on the radio, clicking play she listened as Freddy Mercury’s voice crackled out. The radio was something she’d picked up at the human junkyard. She was forbidden to show it to anyone, she’d been grounded for a week afterwards. Her whole family hated humans, she didn’t understand why..... she didn’t see anything wrong with humans. She braided her hair and jumped on her bike weaving through the misty ghost yards, she cycled to the local public school, she was almost there when two human boys spotted her. She froze praying they didn’t see her. Her whole body began to tremor, “yo Buddy is growling” the shorter of the two boys said motioning to the puppy. “Oh god” Shen whispered “not a DOG” dogs meant nothing but trouble
 
Allie walked through an open yard. She loved to get up early and breath the air when.it was still heavy from overnight. As she was walking and heard a dog bark and she immediately looked around to see if it was close.

The. Boys had a pistol. She felt her wings start to shiver. With a yell Ari burst into flight shooting across to where Allie was. “We have to go” she whispered “we aren’t safe here”
