Stoppit! I am committed to Ameraucanas now. My heart is pure and I will .. not ... be ... ugh ... swayed! Besides, I only have one coop. I could NOT keep these adorable darlings pure. Not now anyway. I will just have to admire yours from afar. :hit

That's why the only non-Nankin bantams I have lay colored eggs - brown, rosy-tan and shades of aqua. It keeps me honest at hatching time and keeps me from muddying the purebreds. I only hatch the creamy little Nankin eggs. All other colors are fair game for cooking & sharing!

I like the nice clean distinction between the black lacing and the silver.... I may have an aversion to "messy" colours

Gold birds seem harder to get "clean" lacing here.... and the gold color just isn't my favorite.

Im not "hating" on them at all.... its just very much a personal preference :D
Oh I totally understand ya! Personal preference is absolutely valid! Haha! I like the Goldens better, you like the Silvers better, but they are all beautiful! It just means more niches are filled! 😺I like that! I think it's neat! Hehe, thanks for getting into it!

My last golden rooster has very, very, nice, clean lacing. It was hard to let him go, but he's right next door, so I can borrow him if I want. The reason I let him go was that he's a bit large, and doesn't have the gypsy colouring. My current rooster has gypsy, but not so nice lacing. It was really hard to choose between them. I ended up deciding that since gypsy was more important, since it seems to be harder to find anymore, even in show lines, from what I've seen. It was very tough, especially as I'm not very seasoned as a breeder. What would you do in that scenario? What's most important to you in your lines? Lacing? Sorry if I'm talking too much.
