[Kale the Quail]

Starlight continued walking through the forest.

Suddenly Chester heard a crackling of sticks, as if an animal was walking nearby. He crouched down and tried to stay still. After waiting a few minutes without hearing the noises again, he ran forward to a dense bush.

Now Chester could see the bush with his favorite type of nuts on it. One last look around, and then he made a dash for it. He gathered a couple of nuts, and returned to the den as fast as his little legs could carry him. Safe, he breathed, as he reached the entrance hole and dove in.

Starlight bumped into a tree "ow!" (I won't be here for most of the day.)

Tyler sat on her branch in the tallest tree in the forest, always looking for someone to bother

Knight trotted along, stubbing every once in awhile to grab some leaves out of a tree or graze on some grass, but he always kept his ears perked to listen for other animals
