His answer intrigued her, even in her mind's battered state. "Why did you come the first time?"

He chuckled, "By the scent on the air, I assumed someone had gutted you, dear sprite. I am far too curious for my own good. Plus I thought it might have been a deer that had done the deed. Tell me, would that not have been hilarious?."

(Okay)
Tisep slinked along the ground like a cat, weaving in and out of the thick brambles in the forest. It was pretty much dead, though there were still a few things to eat around there. She stalked a gryphon from a distance, it might be tough to hunt but it would suffice for a meal.
Jester was circling high above the mountains, several miles to be more precise. Like Tisep he was also hunting, but from the air instead of land. His highly tuned senses picked up her movement, even as far away as he was, and he zeroed in on her location. His senses from this far away could only detect that there was something there in the first place, not what or who it was. He banked gently to the right and began a gentle, spiraling descent to get a better look at this creature. His black scales blended in with the night sky, making him nearly invisible.

Christina, obviously, didn't share his amusment. "If something had--" her sentance was inturrupted by a cough, "done that, what would you have done?" She didn't know why she cared, but she was as equally curious about this as Silv was to first scenting her.

Tisep slinked through the grass like a snake, a cool breeze blowing against her face. She was still a good distance away from the gryphon, and she needed to get a little closer. The gryphon lifted its head, flicking its ears. "Just act like I'm not even there, prey. Don't move at all." She grimaced as she stepped on a twig, making a loud snapping sound. The gryphon was aware that something was stalking it, and prepared to take flight.

"I would have probably taken one of your pretty ears back, sprite." He snorted, still panting, "And depending on what it was, scorned or offered my congratulations. I like a fair fight."

Jester was closing in on them, but was not yet low enough to make a lethal dive without either creature noticing in time to move. By this time he could make out Tisep and the gryphon, and had slowed his descent to watch. He didn't really know Tisep, besides that she was a new member who had recently joined. As someone of high ranking within Caronia and his history as a mentor, he was compelled to watch and see how she would handle the situation without his interference.

"At least you're honest." She muttered. Although she had expected the answer, she had also grown a bit fond of his witty humor over the past few hours.

"Not honest enough, it probably would have been even more fun." silv replied, rolling over and lolling like a cat along the branches.

Tisep jumped out of her spot a little too early; the gryphon immediately bolted, and she flew after it. She flew swiftly, using the wind currents to her advantage. She leapt onto its back, and it let out a screech. It struggled, kicking her leg with its lion paw. She let out a yelp of pain, and in anger she dug her claws into its wings, grounding it while she bit into the nerves on the back of its neck.

She awoke by the river, it was turning dusk, she got up and moved towards the marketplace, she could see the full moon, red rising.
