(lol)

"No, It shall not."
He broke away from the conversation with a nod, heading for his seat.
It'd been such a long time since Caronia had stirred, and they had settled into the calm. He knew it had to do with them, just felt it in his bones.

Once everyone was settled in a rough circle, Camilla cleared her throat and began. "If this attacker came from Caronia, then we have a much bigger problem then one death."

"Thats a pretty big if." Samuel inturrupted her train of thought. "Caronia was thought to be extinct over a thousand years ago. I know you are looking for an answer Camilla, but you can't start blaming a mythical city that nobody even knows exists anymore. Thats foolish."

"That doesn't mean it couldn't exist." Kyra pointed out. The young healer had only recently been accepted into council meetings and was already making her voice heard. "I mean, we don't have any proof that it doesn't do we?"

Stephan shook his head. "Not any more proof then we have that they don't, I think its a perfectly reasonable guess. We do, however, need to prove it... and I can't see that as easy as walking up and asking if theres anybody in the area that matches the description Charlotte gives us."

"Actually it might be..." Amatis spoke up. "If it does exist then maybe they don't know us, we could use infiltration."

Kyra shot her a look. "And if they do know us? I mean, they've already killed Henry... who's to say they aren't spying on us? Doing the same thing?"

"Lets not get too carried away," Camilla cautioned. "Theres an endless number of 'what ifs' that we could brainstorm."

Dread just listened, having nothing useful to put on the table.
He agreed with Kyra that Caronia did exist, and that the odds they already knew of Avalon were quite high.

(We need the Birdenator :( )

Frill's eyes batted open, revealing the sky and branches that danced above her. She was afraid to move, afraid she might have broken a wing in the tumble. It was morning, or early afternoon; she could hear the bird calls and the air was warm. She stretched out her arms, looking at her toes for a moment, rolling onto her side and gasping as the cuts on her back suddenly burned to life. The pain wasn't too awful, she could squint her way through it with a few deep breaths. All in all she appeared to be okay, nothing was bleeding anymore and her wings weren't broken. Avalon still waited though and time wasn't on her side. The faster she got there and warned them of Caronia, the better chance they stood.
After a few more heavy breaths she was off at a slow trot, she decided to hold off on flight until her head stopped swimming. She wasn't she if she could take another tumble.

(Yes :( )

"Well I don't fancy the idea of sending someone to Caronia, look what they did to Henry!" Kyra argued.

"Thats assuming it actually was them." Samuel said impatiently. "The point is, we need proof, and its not going to be a cats meow to get it!"

"We don't really know what we're up against." Stephan agreed. "It could be a huge empire that could crush us, or a small gathering of sadistic rogues who call themselves the decendents of Silas. It might not even be the real thing."

"I don't think it really matters." Amatis put in. "Who cares if they are decendents are not, this is what they can do, and we are going to have to do something about it."

Camilla acknowledged her agreement with Amatis and waved everyone quiet. "Alistair brought up a very good thought on the way home. Let me ask you this question: If there was a battle tomorrow, would you be ready? Could we defend the city against someone with equal numbers?"

Amatis opened her mouth quickly to reply, then thought better of it and shut it again. "Perhaps not..." She murmured thoughtfully, scanning the dragons gathered.

"No, we could not." Dread said blatantly, "It pains me to say this, but Avalon's guard is sorely lacking. We have had no reason to keep an army, no enemy to keep us sharp. No matter what comes of this terrible situation, we must work on this point."

Frill gave her wings a few test beats, still padding along at a decent pace. They felt stable enough, the pain had dulled and she was just so close now.
She had to be in Avalon, now just to Pelendava. She rose shakily into the air, wings almost buckling at first. Oh, please let there be a patrol... Someone, anyone.

(Awww, *pats Quinn and pulls out ducktape*)
