This is Arwen, an amber star hybrid who I rescued from a farm shop as a day-old with splay leg. The owners were just about to cull her ,
but I intervened and told them how to straighten her legs. The woman then basically said she couldn't be bothered and literally threw her into the bin. I then fished her out, carried her home, and raised her to be the friendliest and most lovely chook I've ever had. She also lays double-yolkers every day, massively surprising seeing as she is the smallest amber I've ever seen, and visibly stunted. She does not walk, she waddles.
Here she is with her splint:
And this is her now, swallowing a frog. I couldn't stop her, and she literally eats ANYTHING!
here she is with her sister, Cinderella, 'exploring' the car.
( Arwen's the one about to take a leap down, while Cinderella surveys the safety instructions on the wall
