The Fortunate Unfortunates!

Thanks lol. I am pretty surprised that Romeo survived actually, the maggots had literally almost eaten his whole left wing. He is brilliant though, way better than a lawnmower or a horse at grazing. I'm thinking about loaning him out to cut peoples' grass. He fought off a Gypsy once as well, the weirdo tried to steal our car and Romeo went up to him and beat his wings (that's his 'bog off or i'll beat you up' warning) and when the guy carried on picking the lock of the car, Romeo kicked him right in the stomach. It was SO EPIC!

Here is another of my Fortunate Unfortunates,

Bon bon (more commonly called Bonny). A brown-red D'uccle pullet.

I picked her up from a feedstore, one that really doesn't care about their birds health. She was skinny, bald from feather picking, and really sick with a respiratory infection. Here are some pictures of when I got her,

I helped her along, and soon got her to look like this. :D

She was such a little goofball. She followed anyone around the yard, and was always the first to treats. She had this cute little habit where every morning, I bring a tray of feed to the coop. The nest boxes are by the door, so she would see me coming, fly up on the nest boxes, and right when I walked in, she would fly up into the tray and start eating before everyone else did. XD I loved her so much.

Aww she's so beautiful! Well done for helping her to pull through, It's disgraceful how some people treat their animals.

Aw, such lovely gals! I wish I had the room to rescue more! :love

The only ones I've really rescued are my little silver Sebrights. I found it absolutely shameful how they must have been treated before coming into my care. They were absolutely terrified of humans. They behaved as if they had never even been on the ground before. They were also badly debeaked, which even when done correctly I believe is a cruel thing to do with no good reason for it.

There is absolutely no reason to remove as much of a bird's beak as they did on this poor baby:

(Don't mind Amy the golden Sebright here. She's blending in. )
