Yesterday evening something got my beautiful Cooper. I thought Gmork was gone too. I couldn't find him anywhere. I had to leave and take my young roosters to a friend, to take to sale. THANKFULLY my little sweet Gmork made it back to the coop safe and sound. I'm so bummed, Cooper was my last Roodi baby. My mom lost a cat to coyotes on Friday. Between the coyote and racoons, I'm at my wits end.... I've lost so many chickens this year. I lost my big Russian blue cat last October too. Im just over the heart break 💔 😪
On a good note, my friend gave me a little month old ameraucana, in trade for my silkie rooster bunch. Im hoping it grows up to be a hen. I need more layers. I'll get some pictures of it later. I kinda tossed it in with my other month old babies last night, after I seen Gmork was home.

Because this is the kind of animals that live in my house. My 5.5lb cat Wii, attempting to view the sunrise better? :lau Or maybe that's a new yoga pose? None the less, I went to grab him and he took off like a rocket. I thought he was stuck...Silly boy.

He come to me after I lost my Russian blue last year. My mom had him, neutered and ready for a new home (we end up with drop offs and get them fixed, rehome them or they live out their years here with us)
Thanks Wii, I needed a good laugh this morning!

Sorry you're having such a bad run with predators. It's not fair. Wii is very handsome
This has been by far the WORST year for predators. Not just for me, but my parents and a couple friends who have chickens also. Its a shame, always the favorites who get taken too. I have been trapping racoons, and shooting the coyote when I can. I'm about to invest in a foot trap and place on some high traveled coyote trails. I just worry someone's dog will get caught up in it. Im not sure what other options I have. I think coyote would be to smart to enter a dog sized live trap.

Wii
I call Wii a forever kitten. He is 5.5lbs fully grown. That is less than half the size of my smallest cat Nelly. He is an ornery little guy. He likes to steal small toys of my daughter! View attachment 2246138View attachment 2246139
My Isabel weighs 5 to 6 lbs depending. She too is a forever kitten. At 17 she is also queen of the house. Here's her throne.
