The Fricken Chicken story!

This little satin silkie. I'm not sure if I want to keep it, or rehome it. It is super cute, pretty sure its a rooster though.

@RoyalChick had wrens in her garage this year. We got to watch them fly for the first time. That's funny. 2 wren nests in one year.
They nest in my coop every year, it looks more like a condo now, 2 nest connected together by a tunnel. I just love them! I also have them nest in a little bird house on my back deck! I enjoy watching them!

They are all beautiful! My husband call my flock “ Chicken TV” because we all can sit and watch them for hours!
Me too! They look like drowned rats from this storm we just had. I mean they was out free ranging. Have open access to the coop, and my back porch. Yet they rather get drenched! :lau :idunno

Don't mind me, I look like a dirty bum. But look at this beautiful thing!!! I think both Griff and Nessy are pullets! Neither have much comb development. Or act very rooster-ish. The only thing I know for certain, they are silkie crossed with something. 2Xs the size of my silkie/duccle that is actually 1 week older than them. So I think they will be a medium to large size chicken??

Itty hatched me some chicks this spring. I removed them as they hatched, so no accidents from a 1st time mother. After she hatched them all, I gave her the boot hoping she would go back to lay. Well she did 2 things, she went back to lay and adopted the 4 young chicks in the process lol 😆 she does all the normal mother hens do, from calling them to feed, to keeping them in line, and even went to extreme and sleeps on the floor with them in the coop. Next spring if she goes broody, she can keep her chicks. She has earned it!
