How big is it? I'm really glad it is working for you. I think they are the best. So much safer and you can affix the heat and height just by watching the chicks.
OMG. They are just so stinking cute. I love chicks! That grey and white face is too die for!
That's a Ruby and Falkors offspring. They always give me grey bitties!OMG. They are just so stinking cute. I love chicks! That grey and white face is too die for!
So cute! I can't stand it. Congrats on 100% hatch. That is outstanding. All 8 eggs that made it to lock down hatched perfectly! 3 white silkie and 5 of my eggs! View attachment 2321213View attachment 2321215View attachment 2321216View attachment 2321218View attachment 2321219View attachment 2321220
I actually had 12 eggs to start. 1 infertile (my flock), 3 early duds (local silkie eggs). So i think i did well for my first incubator hatch. Everyone hatched without help. Ran my humidity between 45%-50% first 18 days, last 3 days I bumped it to 65%. So I'll roll with that in the spring! So cute! I can't stand it. Congrats on 100% hatch. That is outstanding.
I'm so sorry. What a beautiful send off. Mine always come to say goodbye to someone who has left the flock. At least that's what I tell myself.Yesterday I noticed Woman, very much not like herself. She hasn't laid me an egg in months. I thought she was egg bound. But sadly she was not egg bound. She had a very large mass in her lower abdomen. About the size of a baseball.. I made the decision to euthanize her last night, after a day of love. I didn't think my other chickens would of paid any attention to me burying her. But here is Ruby giving her a once over laying in her grave. I feel as if I just hosted a Fricken Chicken Funeral... Rest easy Woman. I'll miss you..
