My fox hide is salt dried right now. I need to get a bucket to do the bath. Then actually tan it. Id love to see the deer head. How do you do that? I love my spotted Opie! Lol he is such a ham of a horse. I just wish I had more time to ride him.

I'll show you the head after its down mummifying. Basically I'm just using some old pickling salt. I put the salt in the eyes, nose, mouth, ear, and the neck. The neck had been skinned out some how!? I said ear because it's missing one ear.

All your chicks are super cute! They grow up so fast too! I need to finish my fox. He is just stretched out chilling in my basement. Lol I have everything I need now. Except a clean bucket. I rather not do a salt bath in my tub 😂. I'll prob try to start the tanning process this weekend sometime. I need to move the brooder to my "creepy room". So I have space to work him, so he is soft and cuddly again 😅. Poor guy, at least he is being sort of brought back to life!

Ok... so....

Last night locked all my chickens in after I filled their feed and water up. Every one was perfectly fine. Aside from Fritz. He hasn't learned to roost. So I been putting him up there at night. Did my head count and once over and locked them up.

This morning let everyone out. Then realized Lucy didn't come out. I have no idea what happen but my young EE was dead on the floor under her roost. Like she just died in her sleep and fell off to the ground. What the heck would cause a perfectly healthy young pullet to just drop over dead?

No mites. No odd behavior. Healthy weigh. Clear eyes. She was 100% herself yesterday. Only thing different they have had is I gave them a pumpkin Sunday, and dried meal worms.

I think I'll do an at home necropsy on her. Because I'm confused.... we have been painting the pole barn next door to my coop. But I dont think that had anything to do with it.
