If mud is an issue, I would raise it up with an old tire or wood frame. It will stay dryer as the water will seek the level of the actual ground.I'm proud of my little silkie flock! My Zoomie needs a good bath. She looks so dirty all the time. Anyone got any idea for a good dust bath, that keeps water out? I have 2 corners of their run, that I till for them so they have access to dirt. But when it rains it's a slop hole.

A wood frame then. One old deck board high should be enough.I thought about a old tire, and put it under their coop! But I think it's to small. They would be fighting over it lol
I'm going to try another row after these are finishedI also love garden radishes. I never got around to planting them this year.![]()
He gets a extra long tip, and ends up cracking his beak if I don't regularly trim it. Routine maintenance with that boy!Why were you trimming his beak? What happened?

It's been busy here, with good and bad! I have showgirl eggs hatching Sunday. We just put in a pool! I made the huge decision to downsize my flocks. I only kept one EE, 2 langshan, and the 2 fayoumis, from the adolescent group. I took the rest of the young chicken to the auction and sold them. I still have 4 of my original hens, Ruby, Blondie, Goldie and Big Bertha. My sebright hen, Trouble either got ate or is going to show up with a flock of chicks soon. It really hurt when she wasn't there to go in the coop like normal. No trace of her or feather. I still have some of my shipped egg chicks. 2 mosaics, silver spitzhauben, 1 BLRW, 1 barbezieux and my deathlayer. I gave my mom the CCL cockerel and the maran pullet, from that group. Since she has marans and EE. She sold her entire flock of MF d'uccle and all her OEGB, and got cuckoo maran pullets and a couple EE. He will make her a nice cockerel for some pretty olive eggers. Of course, I figured a buddy would be good to help him adjust. All in all it's been good here. My silkies are looking really nice. I'm going to expand their run into the center run. I'm hoping to get at least one little showgirl to add to my silkies. They should be from paint colors! So I'm excited for the 11th! I'm only keeping the showgirls from them. There is 11 going strong in there! I'll sell the rest of them if they are not showgirls, soon after they hatch! It's
Very nice to see them again!
