The Front Porch Swing

why not? we hang coyotes on the fence here...well I don't aint ever caught one. for some reason they don't like it?

Did you ever hear the story about the 72 year old lady that complained and complained about the neighbors cat coming into her garden and killing the birds at her feeder? Well after many complaints and no action she put out poison. The cat came, ate and went home to die. The owners had a fit because their children were forced to watch their cat die a painful death. (Um stupid parents IMO). So the cops were called and the old lady admitted to putting rat poison in a can of food and putting it out there. She was tried under animal cruelty. Funny thing was there was also anti freeze in the container, but not the cat. I think the jerk cat owner was trying to set the old lady up. Anyway she got a huge fine and community service, but the idiots that owned the cat got nothing for letting it run. That happened in Madison. Not such a good idea to hang em out here. You get crucified publicly in the media around here, and yet it's OK to dump em every where. Stupid people.

Quote: never heard about that one, and I don't know whose side to be on in that one...keep your dang animals at home, is all I can say. Around here, if they are interfering with a "farm" then they are a nuisance and can be killed, with no repurcussions. I personally will not hang anything on a fence...it invites a whole assortment of animals, which I would rather not deal with. I don't like killing anything, but if something comes after my birds, bet that I will shoot.

The four I'm trapping tonight are young, but no momma in sight and are HUNGRY! They caught one of the chicks that are with broody hens. Couldn't catch the little buggers to stop it. So trap them I will. Hubby can take care of the rest. I would really like to know where they are coming from though. It's like a shelter tossed all their cats at our farm!

I don't know your area, but it wouldn't surprise me if they did. Around here, if they get cats or dogs that are unclaimed after 7-14 days they are euthanized. No one gripes. But you will always have the ones that do, with no solution to the problem... and they are usually the first to let em go and let others deal with it.
